Traditionally, people lived in tribes or villages, raising the children, producing their food and shelter, protecting one another and sharing the joys and sorrows of everyday life together.

The fact still is that we need each other in all the possible ways. Our vision is to again provide a template for small, affordable communities on land that is held in common, that includes people of different ages and backgrounds who are committed to one another and to the earth that sustains us all.

Essential to this vision is the idea that smaller communities such as a community land trust exist within a circle of reciprocity with the larger community, both receiving from that larger community and nourishing it in return.
